Data Security > P2PE

Portico supports Point-to-point encryption (P2PE). Point to point encryption protects (encrypts) payment card data from the point of capture, such as when the card is read by a card payment terminal, until it reaches the secure decryption endpoint.

  1. Any device used for P2PE has to be deployed encrypted for P2PE, and must be certified for P2PE
  2. P2PE is only supported with EncryptionData>Version:04 or Version:05
  3. P2PE uses an updated format of the KeyTransmission Block (KTB), Please contact integration@e-hps.com for details on properly formatting the KTB for P2PE for Version:04.
  4. All transactions that contain TrackData or ManualEntry must be encrypted, including the CVV2 on ManualEntry
  5. Device must use SecretAPIKey authentication
